I watched this movie at 6 am thinking I'd fall asleep while watching. I didn't fall asleep. This movie is so fucking good. One of the best police/detective/serial killer movies I have ever seen. The first half is mostly dark comedy but quickly changes mood into a serious detective film. It might be my favorite detective film, after Se7en of course.

Is it real? Is this all just a TV show? I hope not cause my TV show would get shitty ass ratings. It 'd probably run somewhere around 4 in the morning right after the shamwow infomercial and before the weight loss pills. Yeah, I really liked Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank and I really liked this movie.

I don't know what to give this movie. So since I've been giving a lot of movies a rating of 7 lately, I guess I'll do the same for this. Oh yeah, spoiler alert.

First, the twist was not as epic as I thought it was gonna be and I saw it coming.
Second, WTF does Seven Pounds mean?! I had to go on IMDB to look it up. Freaking Shakespeare.
"In Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice the central character demands the payment of a pound of flesh from those who are in debt to him. The 'pound of flesh' refers to an onerous debt, one that is either unable to be paid (but demanded), one that is far in excess of the amount owed, or one in which the payment is set to adamantly exacting standards. Ben has a debt to repay for the seven lives he took and so the phrase is both metaphorical and literal since six of the debts are repaid with his actual 'flesh'. "

The dialogue in this movie is intense. It reminds me a lot of those old crime drama movies but set in high school. Really good. The guy who plays the main character, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, looks exactly like Heath Ledger.

This is probably one of my favorite movies ever. If you've ever seen Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, you'll notice that the main character is played by the same actor. This movie is about a mute hit-man trying to earn enough money to get tongue surgery. Watch it if you can find it.
